What I thought would be a quick stop to change trains at Alexanderplatz turned into a full afternoon of exploring one of the busiest—and most interesting—parts of East Berlin.
From the iconic World Clock and towering TV Tower to nearby landmarks like Berlin Cathedral, Museum Island, and the surprisingly charming Nikolaiviertel, there’s a lot more here than just a transit hub. Add in street musicians, riverside views along the Spree, and even a seasonal art market, and it’s a place worth slowing down for.
I’ve put together a new page with everything to see, tips for visiting, and a few surprises I didn’t expect along the way.
